In Case You Were Wondering.

Here’s what I’ve been up to:

1. Putting kids on or off a bus and picking them up.

2. Trying to get Reese to nap longer than 2 hours.

3. I went to a Giant Pumpkin Festival. (I may go again today.)

4. I am working on a secret project. Shh.

5. I am very excited about said secret project.

6. I have finally signed up for a small groups class. It’s led by Pastor Janet. Love her.

7. I have been studying the Word.

8. I am still taking courses for my Biblical Counseling Certification.

9. I should be cleaning too, right?

10. Soccer games are coming to an end. Keni’s last one is today. Alina’s last one is next week.

11. I am helping out the guidance office teaching character to kindergarteners.

12. I chaperoned the kindergarten trip to White House apple orchard.

13. I’ve signed up to help with the book fair next week and help with the class harvest party.

14. I daily check my favorite blogs. (Hey, a girl’s gotta have priorities.)

15. I only picked the duck picture because Reese likes ducks, and I love to hear her say, “Duck! Duck!”

The scent of age.

I am working with the guidance office at our elementary school. I am teaching kindergarteners about Character. No easy task. How do you teach respect to a 5 year old? The 3 minute video brought to us by Barney seems a little on the lame side. (Even for 5 year olds.) But they all listened and answered questions. (With a little help from a Pop Rocks bribe.)

I introduced myself as “Cami”… not “Mrs. Neff”, which is because, Mrs. Neff is my mother in law. And it makes me feel old when I get called Mrs. Neff. And as I told the eager bean sprouts… “I am not old. Do I look old to you?” And the toe headed little girl’s hand sprung into the air. “No, you’re not old, you smell like cotton candy and apple butter.”

See, I’m not old. That proves it.

Macgyver.

My mom told me tonight, “You haven’t blogged anything lately. Everytime I check, it’s, “Save the carrot tops! Save the carrot tops!”

In order to avoid further heckling from my Ma, I post the following:

My Mom is like MacGyver. Only in the kitchen.

All I could have in my fridge is olive pimentos, wilted celery and a lone and questionably hardened hot dog. But my Mom can turn it into a Rachel Ray worthy dish.

How does she do it? Does she carry food in her deep pockets? Is she brainwashing me? Magic perhaps?

I may never know. And part of me never wants to know. Just keep it coming.

Save the Carrot Tops!

825255_carrots.jpg

I was reading in a book recently and came across this interesting and somewhat saddening peice of information:

Within 100 years redheads will be extinct!

I pondered the validity of such an outlandish idea, so I googled it. Yep! It must be true! Cuz if it’s on the internet there’s no question to the integrity of the statement.  How sad.

My people. My red-headed brothers and sisters. Carrot Tops. Slowly dying out.

Apparently, we rusty locked fellows prefer not to marry or procreate with “our own kind.”

The government should do something about this… don’t you think?

The cost of Buffalo Slime.

About 40 dollars.

That’s how much the admission price was to Wagon Trails Animal Safari Park.

The kids and I went with my parental figures and we all had a great time. p1010308.jpg

Everyone gets a big bucket o animal chow to feed these hungry creatures. So, they come right up to your for their ration of grub.

And in return you get a generous portion of their saliva.

p1010322.jpg

I think the admission cost is so high to offset the amount of soap and hand sanitizer patrons use throughout their visit.

Chuck’s Day

As I mentioned, my hun turned 33. Here is my gift to him. I tiled the garage floor.

p1010253.jpg

Yes, ladies and gents, I did it myself. (my Dad did help, alittle) But I still take all the credit.

It was not too hard to do and actually so much fun that now I am thinking, “What can I tile next?”

Then… On the birthday boy’s nite out, we trekked to Ohio’s 2nd largest fair. The Canfield Fair. We had a great time with the offspring and didn’t leave till the wee hours of 10:30…that’s right… P.M.!

Here’s Charlie with Reese. You can tell Chuck is being hypnotically pulled toward the gyro booth, no? It’s a force much bigger than him.
