Little green monster.

So my all time favorite movie is star wars. I love all of them, although the original three are my first picks when I am bored and feel like watching a movie.

In fact whenever I hear the theme song, you know… “Da. DA. Da-da-da DA da. Da-da-da DA da. Da-da-da dum.” I get this urge to watch it.

Is this normal?

Chop Shop.

redbook_photoshop_contest.jpg

So there’s this huge drama about photochopping Faith Hill for the cover of Redbook.

What’s wrong with these people? Wasn’t she acceptable enough for public viewing before? Is making her elbow 1 inch wide make her more beautiful? She’s had 3 kids and her body still rocks, but no… not good enough.

No wonder pretty much EVERY female in america has issues with their image.

Bad TV.

images-1.jpeg

I should have been putting laundry away. I should have cleaned the basement. Heck, I should’ve shaved my legs. But, no. I went to this blog.

Apparently, a cable company in Memphis got tired of their subscribers always paying late (or not paying at all), so for punishment instead of shutting down their cable, they switch all their channels to TBN, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Every channel. TBN.

After they started this, they had a hard time keeping up with phone calls from people who WANT to pay their bill. Normally, the company had to call them. But apparently, the delinquent customers couldn’t take the punishment of bad tv.

That says a lot about Christian television. Don’t ya think?

Animal Kingdom

786449_little_red_bunny.jpg

My house is like the discovery channel.

This kids’ wading pool is filled with 18 (Yes, I said 18.) crawlfish.

We also are the proud owners or one goldfish and one hermit crab. (Via the Trumbull County Fair.)

We have a dog… and lately, a stray cat that my children keep feeding.

The stray cat ain’t that bad, it’s good at hunting mice and rats (which we also get, unwillingly.)

But, that cat, the hussy that she is, went and had 5 babies out of wedlock. (Shame on her. Disgrace to her family.)

We have tried to run ‘em off, cuz although cute, they are in fact, wild and quite mean.

But two little ones have decided to stay. In my garage.

They are growing up to be quite fine mousers, just like their Mom. What I have found since they have started hunting:

A headless rabbit.

A headless bird.

The eye and ear of another little bunny.

The foot of another rabbit. (Not so lucky.)

And the poofy little tail of another bunny.

What have we learned here? Rabbits are good eating, no matter how young they are.

Macintosh.

677932___old_apple__.jpg

I love my mac. I do. But not today. And not yesterday either.

I had to take my tech-companion down to Comp-USA for diagnostics.

For some reason, my mac turns off (by itself) and will not respond to repeated pushes of the power button. I unplugged it, then replugged it back in. THEN tried turning it on… nothing.

It’s done this before. I liken it to a temper tantrum, as it seems that’s what it is. Because after a while, I go back and hit the power button and this time… the hummmmm and whir of life.

Well, I gave it 2 days, and still no response. So off to Mayfield heights. I hand over my friend to the guy in the blue shirt anbd tell him, “My mac won’t turn on.”

He takes my machine over to the work space, plugs it in, and hits the power button. Pauses and hits it again. He unplugs it, walks back over to me and says, “Your mac won’t turn on.”

Brilliant.

Would you eat it in a box?

Barefoot Amish. Kettle corn. Fire roasted ox from a spit.

Every year in Middlefield there’s an Ox Roast. They have tons of tents of vendors. Every year I go, I eat BBQ Ox (If you’ve never had it… you should.), I buy something old I don’t need, (This year it was a Webster’s Dictionary from 1912), and I get some fresh fruit. As an added bonus my kids terrorized some amish.

I love the Middlefield Ox Roast!

The Tu Tu.

795727_monochrome_pointe_shoes.jpg

Right now I am working towards getting certified in Biblical Counseling, and I am, at the present, studying  on  healthy sexuality.

The differences in the male and female views and ideas of sex will never cease to be interesting to me.

And it starts at a young age.

Here is an example:

When my husband was around 4 years old, his parents took him to a ballet recital to watch their daughter’s friend perform. My husband knew this little girl well, and played with her all the time. But when he saw her dance, something happened inside him, and he loved this new, warm fuzzy feeling. He knew that this feeling didn’t come from the girl, he played with her all the time, so it MUST be the dress she was wearing. THAT was what made him feel so good. So he had a plan.

After the recital was over, while his Dad was eating cookies and punch, and talking to other Dads, Chuckie walked over and promptly told his Dad, “Dad, I want you to buy me one of those dresses.” His Dad was a little more than embarrassed and yelled at his confused son.  Sending him away.

See, Chuckie thought if he felt that good looking at the dress, it would REALLY feel good to wear the dress.

His Dad never took him to another dance recital.
