i like to call it…

there are times when women feel the need to “talk things out”.  we are not looking for answers. we do not seek out your advice. we do not need you to “fix it”. when we begin this  “talking things out” process, we most likely have already come to a conclusion on our own what we are going to do. we have decided what our course of action is going to be, if there will be a course of action at all. so when we begin this process: sit. focus. listen. nod occasionally. and support us. it may sound like we don’t know what to do. but we do. talking it out is just one step in our process of what i like to call “emotional vomiting”. sometimes things happen in our lives that make us, well sick. these happenings, be it work, home, or relationship related poison our life. they become a virus to our mental and emotional self and one way to get rid of said virus is the “emotional vomiting”. it’s not a pretty process, but it is effective. once we’ve had the chance to “get it out of our system” we feel suddenly better. healthier. so next time your friend, spouse, relative, what have you, starts “talking things out” with you, don’t start reciting “what i would do if i were you…” speech, just sit and hold back their hair while they get things out.
